30S Solder
Alloy: 30% Tin 70% Lead with 2% Acid Based Flux
Materials and Equipment:
1. A Soldering iron that will control the iron tip temperature to~300°C.
2. To reduce the heat exposure time, use the correct solder alloy.
3. For handling & injury prevention, use tweezers/vice to hold parts.
Suggested Procedure:
1. Flow in thin bead of solder to 1st part, to pre-tin this part.
2. Place a 2nd quantity of solder on the iron tip and pre-tin the 2nd part.
3. Position the two parts to touch & overlap. Use tweezer if needed.
4. Clean the iron tip & place small amount of solder to the tip of the iron.
5. Place the iron tip at the solder joint & reflow the solder whileapplying a force to the surface so that solder will melt andreflow on both parts.
6. Remove iron and don't move parts. Allow solder to solidify.
